of holiday spirit and fun!

“Sleigh the Day! Shop and Dine Local!”

December 5, 2020

Although the Oxford Chamber of Commerce was unable to host the annual Christmas parade this year, we were still able to bring the holiday spirit to town!  Families were able to come to Centennial Park in downtown Oxford to pick up free Santa letter writing kits, a Santa bag filled with coupons and goodies from local businesses, mail the kids' letters to Santa in his special mailbox, and help stuff the back of a police car with toy donations to Toys for Tots.  There was even a contest to find Santa's lost Christmas tree wandering around town!  Shoppers were also encouraged to enter the Sleigh the Day contest with purchases made between Small Business Saturday and Sleigh the Day (December 5).  Thank you to all who came out to shop and take-out local!

The Oxford Chamber of Commerce is also proud to light the way to our beautiful new downtown by lighting the Larry Obrecht Bridge for the first time! Thank you to Excel Cleaning Bros. for doing the lighting and DRS Pools for the electrical connection. The bridge crosses M24 on the north end of town and will be lit from dusk to dawn for viewing. The Chamber is lighting the way to a brighter day by encouraging shoppers and the community to come out and see our new town and shop and dine, takeout, locally.
